Use our Kitchen Backsplash Tile Calculator to calculate the square footage of backsplash tile you need for your next project. You can also enter the cost of your tile, and calculate the total cost of tiles required for your next backsplash project.
If you have multiple areas of backsplash required, please select “”Add Another Set of Dimensions” to get additional input fields.
Our calculator will help you figure out exactly how much backsplash tile you will need to purchase to complete a backsplash installation. Our installers recommend purchasing 10% extra for overage, as you may run into issues with chipped tiles or damaged tiles.
How to Calculate Square Footage
If you prefer to handle the calculation manually, here is how you would do it. For example, if the width and height of your backsplash area measures 60 inches by 18 inches, you would multiply these two figures and divide by 144. This would equal 7.5 square feet of space.
When you're in the local tile shop purchasing tiles, you would be purchasing based on the total square footage required for your project. Keep in mind, pricing is typically charged per square feet.
